3D Printing Meetup Topic: Reverse Engineering
Details
Have you ever wanted to replace a piece that is no longer made, needed to fix something but the part you needed is nowhere to be found, or perhaps you just wanted a model of something to work off when building something to work with it? These are all examples where the process of "Reverse Engineering" a part is valuable. So how do you get started doing that? Can you just pop it into a copy machine that spits out a perfect replica? Have you done it before and can speak to the process? Either way, come on out to join the discussion on June 15th so we can learn about it together!
Also for our June Meetup, the group voted to attempt the Dodecahedron Torture Test. This tricky print will reveal how well your printer is able to handle bridges, how the part cooling is working, and more. Print one (or ten) of them to bring with you to the meetup so we can compare everyones' prints and figure out how to dial in the printer and/or profiles to perform the best! Remember: we learn the most from failures, so please be sure to bring along any prints that don't quite work out--those are the best!
