What we’re about
Important: for programs that require registration, you must register via our library calendar. Signing up through meetup will not count! Please direct any questions you have to the library at help@dppl.org or by calling (847) 827-5551.
Whether you’re looking to just destress, meet other 20 & 30 somethings in town, or want to try something different (for free) with your friend group, DPPL has fun, creative, and relaxed programs for people in their 20s and 30s, give or take. We are flexible with the age range, just know these are geared toward this demographic.
### ONCE-A-MONTH PROGRAM
If this is you, you are and have always been welcome to all the other programming for adults, but be sure to check out our 20s & 30s events, found on the library calendar
Note that:
Some have limited supplies or seats and require registration VIA the Library (not through the meetup RSVP).
Some indicate alcohol will be served, and attendees must be 21 years or older.
### BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP
We also have a NEW book discussion group for 20s &30s. We meet every other month, usually on the second Wednesday.
Register and pick up the next book at the 3rd floor registration desk, or check out the ebook or eaudiobook on Libby or Hoopla!

20s & 30s Book Club: Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St, Des Plaines, IL, USRead Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami and then come discuss with us at the Des Plaines Public Library.
A poignant story of one college student's romantic coming-of-age, Norwegian Wood takes us to that distant place of a young man's first, hopeless, and heroic love. Toru, a quiet and preternaturally serious young college student in Tokyo, is devoted to Naoko, a beautiful and introspective young woman, but their mutual passion is marked by the tragic death of their best friend years before.
Copies of these books are available at the Readers Services desk on the 3rd floor of the library. Registration required. The book club will meet in the Forum on the fourth floor of the Des Plaines Public Library @ 7:30pm on January 21st.
