The Des Plaines Public Library Hosts a wide range of events from book clubs to film screenings and discussion, trivia and game nights. Some events are in person and some are online via zoom. Join us for fun and enrichment!

Watch Almost Famous at home and then come join us over Zoom to discuss it. This movie can be watched on Kanopy, a free movie streaming app which you can sign up for with your library card. A library staff member will lead the film discussion.

A high-school boy is given the chance to write a story for Rolling Stone Magazine about an up-and-coming rock band as he accompanies them on their concert tour.

Read Catch-22 by Joseph Heller and then come discuss it with us at the Des Plaines Public Library.

Set in the closing months of World War II in an American bomber squadron off the coast of Italy, Catch-22 is the story of a bombardier named Yossarian who is frantic and furious because thousands of people he has never even met keep trying to kill him.

Copies of these books are available at the Readers Services desk on the 3rd floor of the library. Registration required. The book club will meet in Room A on the first floor of the Des Plaines Public Library @ 7:30pm on April 23rd.
