Tuesday Morning Book Club: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers

Read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers and then come discuss it with us at the Des Plaines Public Library.

In a Georgia Mill town during the 1930s, the deaf and mute John Singer becomes a confidant for various types of misfits, including an itinerant worker, a doctor, a widowed café owner, and a young girl. Each yearns for escape from small town life, while the young girl, Mick Kelly, the book's heroine, finds solace in her music.

Copies of these books are available at the Readers Services desk on the 3rd floor of the library. Registration required. The book club will meet in the the Commons on the third floor of the Des Plaines Public Library @ 10:00am on November 11th.
