Plein Air Painting Day in Tecopa-Shoshone CA

Details
• What we'll do
A fun all-day painting exploration of the desert, Amargosa River trails, pupfish ponds, and Death Valley region locally. We will set up our easels and paintboxes in the morning around Shoshone Village easy trails to paint the ponds, trees, water reflections, and desert hills. After a picnic lunch we will explore the Resting Springs Range for limestone canyons, and end up painting the colors of sunset at the Tecopa Badlands.
• What to bring
Bring your own art supplies for oil painting (acrylic and watercolor too). Bring notebooks and sketchbooks. Bring water bottles, snacks, a picnic lunch, hat, chair, and sunscreen. I will have a limited amount of painting supplies to share if you do not have any. There is a store, restrooms, and gas station. If there is interest, we can have dinner at the Brewery in Tecopa or the Crowbar to discuss what we learned about painting.
• Important to know
Meet in Shoshone at the parking area for the Crowbar Cafe, Shoshone Museum, and Flower Building lawn. This is a free event, and we will be on both private land in Shoshone, and public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management--so please pick up all trash and Leave No Trace.
