Role of Graphic Design in Society
Graphic design and designers, rarely get their due - particularly in Goa. Most people, and clients in particular (and not just in Goa) do not understand Graphic Design - they equate it with DTP design - which proliferates all over the country. The fact that a lot of design theory, conceptualisation and research goes into a design, is ignored. Most graphic designers cannot compete with the low rates charged by DTP operators in Xerox and Flex printing shops. In this scenario, what is a designer, who decides to work independently, supposed to do?
She will talk about how she managed to overcome this issue, in Goa and in Mumbai.
