Design for Healthcare is a community for design practitioners working in the healthcare industry who are interested in coming together to learn and share how design can be used to improve healthcare.
Not many health organizations or startups have large design teams so we started this meetup for healthcare designers and practitioners to share and learn from each other. Join us to learn how design can drive better health outcomes, make the lives of medical providers and patients better, and even save lives.

How Building Helped ‘Shield our Heroes’
Building, prototyping, and getting your ideas in front of people is a key skill for healthcare designers. But let’s be honest. That process can be messy. In a time of uncertainty and shifting constraints, we need to get uncomfortable and become open to new ways of building and learning along the way.
We’re excited to hear how IDEO Designers Prat Ganapathy, Jason Wilkins, and Andy Deakin worked together on the 'Shield Our Heroes' (https://www.gofundme.com/f/rghg3a-shield-our-heroes) project. Learn how they improved PPE design and built quickly by stepping out of their comfort zone and embracing their ability to fail fast.
This talk will highlight their ‘build to think’ mantra and peel the curtain back on a process that can be applied to design initiatives under tight deadlines and material constraints.
Join us with a lunch or snack and your finest Zoom background. A link will be shared as we approach the event.
