In our talk we’ll share ways that we’ve been able to identify core skills and behaviors within Pinterest and used them to build clear level expectations, career paths and learning & development opportunities. You’ll walk away with tactics for discovering what skills create impact, how to craft assessments and identify and build training for your design teams.

About Anne
Anne is currently the Director of Design Operations at Pinterest. She has shaped the role of ops within Pinterest, and championed design through the rapid growth of the company. Balancing process and flexibility, Anne is passionate about bringing teams together to create inspirational experiences. Throughout her career she has found a way to introduce “process” into cross functional teams and not have people revolt. Prior to Pinterest, Anne hailed from both agency and product worlds where she had in-depth experience working with a variety of clients and complex design challenges.

About Kim
Kim currently leads Design Experience at Pinterest. She believes in the power of discovering what you love and creating a plan to get there. In her role, she leads a team that enables Pinterest’s designers to do their best work and build off of each other through growing their craft, career development and team culture. Before Pinterest, Kim art directed merchandise at Warner Music Group, got listicles created for clients at BuzzFeed and kept a Cayman Islands Hedge Fund team humming. When she’s not at work, you can find her watching NY Giants football and trying to find a good bagel.
