Meetup #4: Tour of Fab Lab DC
Details
This meetup will provide an overview and tour of Fab Lab DC and expose participants to 3D printing, computer generated objects, vinyl cutting, mini~milling, molding and casting and more.
Fab Lab DC (http://fablabdc.org/) is a non-profit, operational fabrication laboratory that provides digital technology education, rapid prototyping, meeting space, lectures and more. They rely on community support to provide tools and educational resources for innovation.
Fab Lab DC is a catalyst for the renewal of the North Capitol Street corridor, creating a grass-roots technology hub in the nation's Capitol. Fab labs have spread from inner-city Boston to rural India and are serving their communities as catalysts for digital innovation, job training, new business incubation, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education, and urban renewal.
Please join us at the Design Thinking DC January Meetup, with Phyllis Klein, the originator of the Fab Lab DC project, and learn about the technologies and community benefits of this unique type of innovation center.
The $10 fee is a donation to Fab Lab DC.
