Your mind takes shortcuts to get through the day. We call these cognitive biases. Usually they’re harmless. Even helpful. But what happens when they’re not? In this talk we’ll identify some particularly nasty biases and the kinds of design and content steps we can take to keep them in check, or even turn them to a user’s advantage.

David Dylan Thomas, creator and host of the Cognitive Bias Podcast, has developed digital strategies for major clients in entertainment, healthcare, publishing, finance, and retail. He serves as Principal, Content Strategy at Think Company, helps organize Content Strategy Philly, and teaches classes for Girl Develop It Philly. He has given standing-room-only presentations at TEDNYC, SXSW Interactive, UX Copenhagen, and the Wharton Web Conference on innovative design and content approaches.
