BIO: Sylvain Moreno, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Computational Neuroscience at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University, Special Advisor to the Vice-President Research and International Office, and Scientific Director of AGE-WELL National Innovation Hub: Circle Innovation, https://www.circleinnovation.ca/. Dr. Moreno’s research program focuses on brain plasticity and its implications for longevity. His program incorporates multiple testing platforms, including computational, genetics and neuroimaging. Dr. Moreno has been a member of the New York Academy of Science since 2006 and other prestigious scientific organizations. He has been the recipient of many awards from national and international organizations, such as The Brainstorm Innovation Prize from Stanford Medical School (2017). His work has received widespread press in various media outlets, including The New York Times.

MODE OF DELIVERY: Hybrid - in person or via Zoom. Lunch will be provided at 12pm for in-person attendees.

WHERE: DFP Classroom 2300A (2nd Floor), Forestry Science Centre, 2424 Main Mall.

DIRECTIONS: Once you are inside the Forestry Science building, walk to the rear (South-East) of the building and pass through the large open study area then up the stairs to the 2nd floor student lounge (“Treetop”) area. Turn left, pass through a double door and the room 2300A is the first on the right.
