Welcome to the Design Lab Community. We're a friendly bunch! We're a community of designers that get together to share ideas and insight about UI UX design whilst getting to know one another.

This month we are supported and hosted by the awesome team at Cuvva.

This event is available for 50 mid-experienced designers. Tickets are FREE and will be available for registration on Eventbrite from 6th January 10 am. We will be releasing 80 tickets to allow for drop out but just in case, we will adopt a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED entrance policy - so please make sure to arrive on time to guarantee.

I'm Shabana, Lead UX at huumun. I design experiences and sometimes interfaces for national and international companies. I believe in improving everyday experiences for people, practising UX methodologies that get the team boosted, being agile, iterative, tested and shipped in my UX cycles.

Talk two: Design at Cuvva

Blake will talk about the design tools we use at Cuvva, how design shapes the culture at Cuvva and the way designers and engineers work together. I’ll also be talking about the challenges of a scaling design & product team and how we’re working towards overcoming them. One challenged faced as designers is how we can get our work as close to the real thing and i’ll show you how we’re approaching it through design systems, dynamic content in Figma that streams to our backend and more.

Hi 👋, I’m Blake. Principal designer at Cuvva. I lead the design team building an experience that rethinks the usual approach to insurance. Genuinely putting the customer first at every decision to lead to the simplest yet most informative experience. I am passionate about solving challenging issues through first principles and getting the design to build experience as seamless as possible.
