The Coldcard Seed Heist & BIP-110's Flag Day

Two stories this week, and both of them are homework.
**First, the Coldcard seed heist.** A firmware bug that sat unnoticed since March 2021 quietly routed seed generation to a predictable software RNG. On July 30, attackers used it to drain over 1,000+ BTC from air-gapped wallets in 41 minutes — no malware, no phishing, they just regenerated the seeds offline. The running total has passed $130M, the largest Bitcoin theft of 2026. Wednesday night we walk it end to end, the same way the slides do:

• What actually broke (the bug is two characters wide — you'll want to see it)
• Whether YOUR wallet is affected, in plain words
• The migration, step by step: spinning up a fresh wallet in Sparrow or BlueWallet and moving your coins the careful way
• Hardening while you're in there: passphrases, real dice rolls, Shamir backup shares, multisig
