📍 Belle Isle Park – Shelter 4, Detroit, MILet’s kick off summer the right way—with great food, great people, and all the fun! Whether you're a regular or new to the group, this is the perfect chance to bring your friends, family, or that cool cousin who always brings the best side dish. Everyone's welcome!
We’ll fire up the grill, play some lawn games, turn up the music, and soak up that sweet lake breeze. There’ll be plenty of picnic tables, shade, and space for all your summer shenanigans. Bring a blanket, a chair, a dish to share (optional), and whatever else makes you happy on a summer day.
### 📍 Location Details: Shelter 4 – Belle Isle Park
Belle Isle is a Michigan state park, so a Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry. If you don't have one, day passes are available at the gate.
#### 🚗 Directions to Shelter 4:
- Enter Belle Isle Park via the MacArthur Bridge off Jefferson Ave in Detroit.
- After crossing the bridge, continue straight on Central Ave.
- At the first major fork, veer right onto The Strand (you’ll be following the river).
- Look for signs for the picnic shelters—Shelter 4 is about halfway around the island on The Strand's east side, near the water.
- Shelter 4 is located close to the fishing pier and beach area, with a large parking lot nearby.
We'll have signs or balloons up to make it easy to find us!
