CyberSecurity Careers; What are the Opportunities?

Details
CyberSecurity, one of the most talked about topics today in terms of connected technologies; how will we prevent our autonomous vehicles from being hacked, how can we ensure that the Internet of Things devices we bring into our home are secure and not putting our families at risk? What about mobile banking - is it really safe or is it going to give someone access to our bank account and put us at risk?
Firms across the connected tech eco-system are in need of cybersecurity professionals, and the need is only expected to grow. But what does that really mean in terms of the types of jobs that are available, and what's the real picture of the demand level? To help us understand and provide answers to these questions Mobile Monday Detroit will hear from a talent recruiter who specializes in cyber talent recruitment, as well as workforce policy & research analyst who will help us compare the demand in Michigan to the US and other parts of the connected tech eco-system.
Additionally, we'll be joined by a panel who makes their living in the cybersecurity field so they can share with us answers to such questions as:
• What type of education is needed to do the work?
• What's a typical day like?
• What are the pros & cons of this type of work?
• What do you find about the work that is different than pre-employment expectations?
• What can you do to prepare for such a career that will ensure your success?
The event is free to attend but advance registration is required via Meetup. Refreshments will be served courtesy of our host/sponsor, RIIS (http://riis.com/). Free parking is available.
Mobile Monday Detroit is being sponsored by the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (http://gomobilemichigan.org/) and RIIS (http://riis.com/).
