Mobile in Government

Details
Mobile technology has been called ‘transformative’ in sectors such as healthcare, commerce, development, automotive, education and others; what is less well known is that mobile technologies also have the ability to transform the way government operates and serves its constituencies.
The case for utilizing mobile technologies in the government sector is driven by:
The ubiquity of mobile use in the U.S. Opportunities to use mobile to improve the efficiency of service delivery in government Innovations in mobile technologies that can propel new government services and capabilities Improved transparency through increased access to government data and information The use of mobile technologies to enhance government functions and activities is becoming increasingly popular – at all levels from federal, to state, to local communities; and while governments are becoming increasingly effective at providing better or more significant services via these technologies, there is yet little evidence available on the impact the technology is having on governmental operations, or the results being achieved in this sector.
Governmental entities in Michigan are on-track with their utilization of these technologies in increasing numbers. To help us have an understanding of the use of mobile technologies by Michigan-based governmental entities and the results being achieved, Mobile Monday Detroit presents the following speakers on Monday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m.:

Using that experience, over the last three years Mr. Hartley has integrated dozens of existing database "silos" throughout the city into one low-cost data warehouse that now provides real-time data measurement. Simultaneously, he incorporated a new cloud-based city-wide CRM that allows more than 17 departments throughout the city to handle requests for service.
