Welcome to the Detroit Tiki & Tropical Escapism Society.
This group is for people who love the feeling of stepping away from everyday life for a few hours.
For some, that's a perfectly made Mai Tai. For others, it's a favorite tiki bar, a great rum cocktail, a tropical destination, a backyard oasis, a memorable story, or simply spending an evening with good people in a place that feels a little different from the ordinary.
Whatever brings you here, you're welcome.
Whether you're new to tiki or have enjoyed it for years, you'll find a place here.
We bring together people who appreciate the atmosphere, hospitality, creativity, and sense of adventure that make tiki and tropical experiences so enjoyable.
Our gatherings are designed to be welcoming, conversational, and easy for newcomers to join. Some members may be longtime tiki enthusiasts. Others may simply enjoy tropical-themed spaces, great drinks, good food, travel, or meeting friendly people. No expertise is required.
Most events take place at tiki bars, tropical-themed venues, restaurants, and other destinations that capture the spirit of tropical escapism. Some gatherings may focus on cocktails or rum, while others may center on food, atmosphere, travel, backyard tiki projects, local discoveries, or simply enjoying good company.

Many events have limited capacity, so accurate RSVPs help everyone have a chance to attend.
