What we’re about
Welcome to Detroit Active Singles!
For an introduction: this group is modeled after the Language Exchange and Dance Parties held in Malaga Andalusia Spain a few years ago, with the goal of introducing tourists to locals and locals to each other!
This, in turn, was based on the language exchange parties held in the Gaslamp District of San Diego, CA. These saw international students and locals coming together weekly for the same reason.
The recurring theme for Detroiters is meeting travelers (now it’s a ‘cool’ place to visit as well as live.) This includes business travelers and students for language and cultural exchange.
Cycling is also a key activity for the group. If you want or need help getting or fixing a bike, you came to the right place!
The reason single people are the focus it's to allow them to socialize with other singles. It’s not easy being single…but someone has to do it.
The group also offers tons of traveling tips, tips on getting a passport in six hours, working abroad and overcoming the obstacles that may keep you (yes, you) from traveling more.
Come prepared to learn something while practicing a language, chewing and then dancing after you are done chewing.
As far as dancing, there no is no shame, no judgment, come dance like nobody's watching and have large amounts of fun and meet new (not nude) people!
