Sprachcafé Bonn

We’re back! Our weekly “Sprachcafé” meetup! We will be exchanging cultures, sharing food, practicing our German together and playing some games in a relaxed and casual environment. Whether you're a beginner or native, come chat in German in a friendly, supportive, and judgement free zone at Hofgarten (weather permitting, if raining we will move indoors, I will share on here where we go)

Wir sind wieder da! Unser wöchentliches „Sprachcafé“-Treffen! In entspannter und lockerer Atmosphäre tauschen wir uns über Kulturen aus, teilen Essen, üben gemeinsam Deutsch und spielen ein paar Spiele. Egal, ob Anfänger oder Muttersprachler – kommt vorbei und unterhaltet euch auf Deutsch in einer freundlichen, unterstützenden und vorurteilsfreien Umgebung im Hofgarten (bei gutem Wetter; sollte es regnen, weichen wir nach drinnen aus – ich gebe hier Bescheid, wohin wir gehen).

What are the biggest challenges migrants face in Bonn , and what can we actually do about them?

Join us for a 3-day Social Hackathon bringing together migrants, people with migrant backgrounds, local residents, and anyone interested in making Bonn a more inclusive city.

Across the three days, we’ll explore challenges affecting our migrant communities in Bonn, share our experiences and perspectives, identify issues we want to focus on, and work together to turn ideas into concrete proposals.

You’re welcome to join all three days or only the sessions that work for you. Each day will build on the previous one, but you don’t need to attend the full programme to take part and contribute.

Through discussions, group activities, brainstorming and design-thinking methods, we’ll work towards solutions that are realistic, community-driven and connected to what people in Bonn actually experience.

What will we do?

• Talk openly about the challenges migrants experience in Bonn
• Identify specific local problems we want to address
• Explore their causes and possible solutions
• Work in diverse teams with people from different backgrounds
• Turn ideas into practical proposals and recommendations
• Share and develop those proposals together

By the end of the three days, we want to leave with concrete proposals that can be presented to the City of Bonn and other relevant local institutions and decision-makers.

So whether you have personal experience with these issues, work with migrant communities, or simply care about making Bonn a better place to live, you’re very welcome to join.
