What we’re about
The purpose of this group is for software developers across the North East (from Newcastle to Teesside) to come together regardless of technology stack and share knowledge and best practice for other teams. The aims are:
- Create an awareness of other development teams across the region
- Share practices, approaches and technologies between those teams
- Host varying formats of events to enable those teams to meet
Events will sometimes involve technical talks from speakers in the region or short introductions from teams around the region, and always an opportunity to talk with other developers!
This group is aimed at software developers of all skill levels and team leads, but there's no vetting at the door :)

Lightning talks are a great way to get started for new presenters or a change of pace for experienced speakers which can include slides, a quick demo or just be you talking about something you're interested in, so get your ideas submitted now!
- Lightning Talks can be up to a maximum of seven minutes long but if have no time for questions can do this during networking.
- There will be up to ten lightning talks with an option to cover up to two topics if there aren't enough talks
- If there are more than ten talks then the organisers will pick the best ten talks to be featured
- If doing slides you can use the official .NET Conf 2025 PowerPoint template which you can download from github.com/dotnetConf/2025/blob/main/Creative/template.pptx

You'll find Haylofts just over the road from Haymarket Metro Station or around the corner from Haymarket Bus Station just behind Oxfam, it is up a cobbled arched alleyway with a Haylofts sign above so you'll know you're in the right place.If coming by car there's a few car parks nearby including Morden Street Parking and Eldon Square Multi Storey Car Park but it is not possible to use the on street parking outside the venue as it is permit holders only from 6:30pm.

.NET Conf 2025 is the virtual event that celebrates the release of .NET 10 as well as Visual Studio 2026. .NET Conf 2025 - Newcastle upon Tyne is an in-person event where you'll get an overview of .NET Conf 2025 along with a chance to deliver or attend up to ten lightning talks related to or about .NET with North East Dev Community courtesy of Waterstons and Cluarantonn.
There's will be up to ten seven-minute lightning talks available that can cover anything around .NET (not just .NET 10) such as Aspire, Blazor, C# and more or anything related to or of interest to those in the Microsoft developer community such as Azure, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio and more or general topics like AI, success stories, lessons learned and more!
The event will be hosted at the historic Haylofts venue in Newcastle upon Tyne which is a former stables that has been transformed into modern workspace and the event is sponsored by Waterstons and Cluarantonn.
About Event
We'll start the evening with drinks courtesy of Cluarantonn and pizza courtesy of Waterstons along with Tea and Coffee courtesy of Haylofts followed by an overview of .NET Conf 2025 by Peter Bull, two-time Microsoft MVP for .NET and Windows Development to kick off the evening of lightning talks which will last no longer than 8pm!
