The Microservice Whisperer

Details
It seems like the world splits into two kind of people. Those who use microservices and those who migrate from a monolith to a microservice.
Ok - not really, but if you are in one of the two states mentioned above, this meetup is for you.
Come to hear about our recent hard won experience in migrating from an 8 years monolith into a microservices infrastructure. This will be followed by expert's practical tips to monitor and manage microservices at scale.

Monolith Bedtime Story
Microservices have been a buzz word for a long time now. In essence, it is an architecture that helps manage complex systems by splitting them into small pieces.
Most systems begin as a monolith and the need to break it down comes much later in development.
While this might be a big and scary project, we have recently migrated big parts of our monolith to microservices and lived to tell the tale.
In this talk Yedidya will share with you the process that helped us split a big monolith into a microservice gradually and with zero downtime or failures.
Microservices & nodejs - keeping the mess to a minimum
Microservices is an architecture that is by definition very distributed, tends to change fast and to uses a lot of tools. Many organisations struggle to operate microservices at so many levels.
Nodejs is a language that could get messy fast; there are many libraries, frameworks and even languages (typescript vs javascript) to juggle. The combination of the microservices and nodejs can be an organizational nightmare.
In this talk we will go through the main issues and how can we solve them using all kind of tips and tricks. Join us!
