Last year Microsoft released the Hololens developer editions. Since then there has been a lot of excitement around the VR platform. Unlike the Vive and Oculus, the Hololens is holographic, and all of the processing is on the device!

Some of the unique features of the hololens are the spatial mapping and the spatial sound that it has. In this talk I will introduce the hololens and show how to build a simple real world application with it that uses both the spatial mapping and sound features.
We will have a few hololenses for you to try out as well!

In my free time I love competing in hackathons, attending and speaking at meetups and conferences, and enjoy mentoring and volunteering for community events. As a software engineer I like having the power to build anything from rapid prototypes to complex applications. I believe in learning by doing, and found myself learning how to use the hololens at the Microsoft HoloHacks event last year. In this talk I'll show you how to build the project that we made for the hackathon!
