Moonbeam is a new Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform that makes it easy to deploy Solidity smart contracts to a parachain on Polkadot — with little to no modifications needed.

As an Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform, Moonbeam makes it easy to use popular Ethereum developer tools to build or redeploy Solidity projects in a Substrate-based environment.

In this talk, Alberto Viera from the Moonbeam team will provide a quick overview and demo of the Moonbeam smart contract platform, how it integrates with existing Ethereum tools. You’ll also learn how to deploy your unmodified Solidity smart contracts to Moonbeam’s Polkadot-based environment, where you can get access to new users and assets.

Additionally, Alberto will also make a quick overview about Moonriver, Moonbeam's deployment to Kusama. Moonriver is intended as a companion network to Moonbeam, where it will provide a permanently incentivized canary network.

#About the speaker:
Alberto is the Developer Relations Manager at PureStake, and has an extensive academic background, having studied Mechanical Engineering and holding both MSc and Ph.D. titles. He currently lives in Barcelona, but he is originally from Venezuela.
