When there are a large number of variables as it happens in cases recorded under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, technology becomes a crucial tool for information extraction and analysis. The case data available cannot be used, as is, to track different dimensions of POCSO. However, algorithms can transform unstructured data such as judgements, bail orders and circumstances leading to the final sentence into intelligence.

The talk will explore this problem, different methodologies that can help alleviate it, and their pitfalls.
