Building a search engine for interactive search

Details
Abstract of the talk:
Search is an integral part of everything we do online, and Google is the de facto tool for most. When it comes to custom search functionality, most sites still struggle to get it right and, not surprisingly, even users rely on an external search tool like Google rather than an in-built search functionality, if it exists.
Getting custom search implementations right - and fast - is still a struggle. But probably understanding how to approach it will help in one's journey. In this talk, let us derive from first principles what it takes to build a search engine that's optimized for fast, interactive search and is hosted geographically close to the end-user.
