DevFest 2025 | The Quantum-Safe Web: Implementing Hybrid TLS with PQC 🌐
DevFest 2025: Building Safe, Secure and Scalable Solutions with AI and Cloud.

This year, DevFest 2025 will empower developer communities worldwide to architect the future. We'll focus on driving the practical integration of AI and Google Cloud into their solutions.Β

The Quantum-Safe Web: Implementing Hybrid TLS with PQC

The web's security is built on the TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocol.Β
This session examines how PQC algorithms are being integrated into TLS 1.3 to protect data in transit from future quantum attacks.Β
We'll discuss the work of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the proposed standards for a quantum-safe web.Β
We'll explore what it takes to set up a server and a client to perform a PQC-enabled TLS handshake.Β
We will also cover the operational challenges, such as issuing new certificates with hybrid signatures and ensuring interoperability with legacy systems.Β
This session provides a practical roadmap for anyone responsible for web security.

Key Themes:

TLS 1.3 πŸ”—
Web Security πŸ›‘οΈ
IETF Standards πŸ“„
Hybrid TLS πŸ€πŸ”’
PKI Migration πŸ”„

Recommended background:Β
Familiarity with the TLS protocol and web security concepts is highly recommended. Attendance at Event 3 on hybrid cryptography is a plus

Recommended Resources:

A presentation that provides a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in PQC standardization within the IETF, including the challenges and progress in integrating PQC into common internet protocols.

What is AI Quantum Clubs?
Building upon the foundations of our AI Study Jams and AI Math Clubs, the AI Quantum Clubs campaign is designed to explore the crucial and rapidly evolving world of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

This initiative focuses on equipping developers and enthusiasts with the knowledge to understand and address the looming quantum threat to our digital security. We will provide a clear, intuitive path to learning about new quantum-resistant algorithms and how to implement them in a way that future-proofs our code and infrastructure.

Let's learn together! Strengthen your skills and take the next step on your journey to becoming a future-ready developer.
