Code Camp is a community driven software and technology conference. This event has become an international trend where peer groups of all platforms, programming languages and disciplines band together to bring content to the community.

SoCal Code Camp is a volunteer run event and is completely free for attendees! Code Camp takes place over the course of a weekend and includes great sessions and workshops, networking events and a raffle.

Who is speaking at Code Camp? YOU are, YOUR PEERS are, and YOUR LOCAL EXPERTS are all are welcome! This is a community event and one of the main purposes of the event is to have local community members step up and offer some cool presentations! Don't worry if you have never given a presentation before, we'll give you some tips if you need help, and this a great opportunity to spread your wings. Of course, we do have some ringers on our speaker list as well stay tuned!

And yes the price is right! FREE FREE FREE Please just check in when you get to the event so we can know how many people showed up and so we can give you some fun stuff.

How can you help out?

  1. Help us get more presentations.
We need a good width and depth of interesting topics. We are welcoming of those in the community who would like to get better at their presentation skills, as well those who are more experienced with presentations. The most important aspect of a presentation ( or workshop ) is enthusiasm about sharing your knowledge and experience. Presentations need to be educational to meet the requirements of the facilities host ( i.e. no marketing pitches ). Rooms are allocated based on votes of popularity by those who RSVP, so please submit your session as early as possible to ensure enough attendees are able to vote on it. We typically are able accommodate all sessions submitted provided we have available rooms. Please add a session here:
( create a login, login, and publish your session )
    http://www.socalcodecamp.com/sessions.aspx

Each session is 1 hr long, with a 15min break between sessions. For workshops and longer presentations they will be marked as Part 1, Part 2,.. with the intention that an attendee participate in all the parts.

  1. Help us get the word out to potential attendees.
Please help pass out the word to your friends and associates who maybe interested in furthering their knowledge. If you are a member of a developer / tech user group or meetup please encourage the organizer to post the event on their newsletter and meetup group. We are an inclusive group and would like to see all aspects of the technology stack and those working around software and development to participate.

  2. Help us get sponsors.
We have a very low overhead thanks to the facilities sponsor and the volunteer nature of So Cal Code Camp. We would like to provide lunch and prizes for attendees as well as cover some incidental expenses. If you know of a company wanting to recruit developers or do out reach to developers please encourage them to contact us about very affordable sponsorship and table space opportunities.
