What we’re about
Are you a software developer looking to expand your knowledge and connect with fellow developers? Look no further than our group! We are a passionate and diverse community of developers who love all things related to software development.
One of the best things about our group is that we are technology and vendor-neutral. This means that we don't show any favouritism towards any particular technology or vendor. We welcome all developers, regardless of their background or experience level. Whether you're a beginner who's just starting or an experienced developer looking to learn new skills, you will find a supportive community in our group.
Our monthly meetings offer a wide variety of topics related to software development. We cover everything from software development methodologies to patterns, best practices, various language paradigms, and even xkcd humour. Our meetings are held online, with occasional hybrid events as well. This means that you can participate in our meetings from anywhere in the world.
In addition to our regular meetings, we also organize special events on an ad hoc basis. These events provide opportunities for members to network and connect with fellow developers in a relaxed and informal setting. One of our most popular events is our Geek of the Year competition, which celebrates the achievements of outstanding developers in our community.
So, if you're looking to expand your knowledge, connect with fellow developers, and have fun while doing it, we invite you to join our group. We look forward to meeting you!

Title: Side-hustle - AND keep your day job! Most developer's don't realise how their abilities uniquely equip them to become business owners and product builders.
It's a lot easier to launch a product than expected, and while that doesn't necessarily mean it will be successful - it does mean that side-hustling to raise extra funds is close at hand to anyone who dares try.
If you're capable of building a good product, all you need is a simple marketing strategy to spread the word. In this talk, I'll show you just how you can go about the daring task of switching from "developer" to "entrepreneur" - without risking your day job!
Facilitator: Candice Grobler
I founded Candid Collab after deciding that my last manager was right to call me “unemployable”. After struggling to fit into an “employee” mold that never felt natural, I’m excited to finally have real security knowing that I can provide for myself as a business owner, mentor and now — speaker!
Now I help stretched brands build community marketing systems around their products and services — so they can market their businesses without selling their souls. 😉
And as a passion project, I mentor aspiring consultants who want to break free of the “employee” role.
