In-person social event at the Exeter Phoenix Café Bar.
Details
UPDATE: The size of our expected group has tripled recently, so I just called the Exeter Phoenix about availability and learned they have an event on today so it may get pretty busy later on.
Hopefully there'll be space for us to fit in (since we'll be there pretty early), but IF we need to move to a nearby venue (there are LOTS of options) we will update the event web page right away (either here or in the COMMENTS section below).
--------------------------
For our October in-person social event, we'll be meeting at the Exeter Phoenix Café Bar from 3-6pm on Saturday October 21st.
The event - our first in the Exeter area! - is open to anyone who would like to attend. This includes group members, their friends (writers and otherwise), significant others, etc., but also anyone in the Exeter area who has any interest in screenwriting! So please feel free to spread the word around if you know of such individuals or groups in the area. It's really intended as a fun get-together at which yes, we will most likely spend a fair bit of the time talking about writing-related matters, but that's not the only topic permitted ;-)
The venue: The Exeter Phoenix is a multi-artform venue in the heart of Exeter, about a 3-minute walk from Exeter Central train station. Its Café Bar serves their full food menu (with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options) until 5pm, with drinks and small plates still available until 7pm. So hopefully something for everyone, and you can have a late lunch / early dinner or just a drink, as you prefer!
How to find us: Claire will be in the Café Bar from at least 3-6pm and will share her contact info with anyone who has RSVP'd "yes" on the morning of the event.
How to get there: Exeter Central train station is about a 5 min walk from The Exeter Phoenix, and Exeter St. David's is about 20 mins away on foot. This page provides more information about travelling there by bus or by car. It looks to me like the Guildhall Centre Car Park is the closest, and it appears to charge £5.60 for up to 3 hours.
