Sunday circular walk: Brixham, St Mary's Bay and Berry Head
Details
Join us for a wonderful 7.5 mile circular walk from the historic fishing port of Brixham towards the South West Coast Path. Climbing out of Brixham we'll head first to Man Sands and then towards St Mary's Bay, where we'll have a packed lunch. From there it's onto Berry Head Nature Reserve, with its stunning views across Lyme Bay and Torbay, and it's mighty fortress.
We'll enjoy a stop at the excellent Guardhouse Café before making our way through the port of Brixham back to the start.
Please bring a packed lunch to enjoy on the walk, along with plenty of water.
Terrain
The walk climbs through Higher Brixham onto the coast path, with several significant ascents and descents, amounting to a total of around 320 metres of ascent. Good walking trainers or walking boots required.
Getting to and from the walk
We’ll meet at the Town Square bus stop in Brixham. There are regular trains to Paignton from Exeter and a frequent number 12 bus connects Newton Abbot, Torquay and Paignton with Brixham.
