Weird Britain: Robin Goodfellow (South Devon Storytellers)
Details
Welcome back to the bizarre, the curious, the queer and the strange - this is Weird Britain!
South Devon Storytellers are back in the MIC café in Buckfastleigh on Wednesday 24th June.
To celebrate midsummer with much mischief, Henry Everett will be telling the tales of Robin Goodfellow!
Arguably Britain’s favourite Faerie, Kent’s beloved trickster spirit, born between the worlds, to a mortal mother and a Faerie father.
Robin journeys across this weird land, playing pranks on the unwary, disturbing the comfortable and comforting the disturbed.
The pranks of Robin Goodfellow have been told for over 500+ years, inspired Shakespeare’s Puck and captured hearts and imaginations across the world.
There will be 4-5 spaces to tell shorter traditional tales, let us know if you’re interested in sharing a story! This month's optional theme: FAIRIES.
Listeners welcomed, tellers encouraged.
