We’re closing out 2025 with a bang! Join Latvia DevOps & AI Communities 29th event on December 16 at Arvato Systems Latvia SIA. Doors open at 18:30, talks start at 19:00.

The last event of the year featuring 7 lightning talks from leading experts in tech, design and digital transformation:

Elina Ozola-Terauda. Elina is the Chief of Research & Design at Zen IS, leading UX, UI, and service design across large-scale digital transformation projects in Latvia. She has more than 10 years of experience in the IT industry and has worked in companies such as Tet and If P&C Insurance. She specializes in user research, design strategy, and building products that simplify complexity — helping teams deliver faster, clearer, and more human-centered solutions.
Talk name: Recycle Bin Innovation. This will be a candid look at how early UX, user research, and proven patterns can save time, money, and sanity in any product team.

Kaspars Mezeriņš. Kaspars Mezeriņš is an AI project lead and the manager of AI Studio, specializing in digital transformation, workforce upskilling, and practical AI adoption. He works closely with companies and educational institutions to help them understand and implement modern AI technologies, including open-source models, local AI solutions, and emerging skills for the future of work.
Talk name: Building with people in mind in AI the era. Kaspars will explain why modern DevOps teams must think ethically and put people at the center when building anything involving AI. He will show how small technical choices can create real human consequences, why this mindset matters now more than ever, and how upcoming regulations make responsibility a core engineering skill. As part of the AI COMPLY initiative, this talk also highlights the growing need for awareness and clarity around the EU AI Act and why understanding these changes helps DevOps teams build safer, more human-centered systems.

Gatis Ozols, Deputy State Secretary for Digital Transformation.
Talk name: Artificial Intelligence Act – essence, implementation in Latvia, and expected clarifications. Public sector AI architecture.

Matīss Grotups, Co-Founder at RR Network. Full-stack developer who enjoys creating automations that solve common inefficiencies.
Talk name: Security in the AI Era. A talk about how easy it is to introduce code vulnerabilities in your AI agents.

Valts Mazurs, Chief Information Officer at Double Helix Technologies. Software engineer with more than 20 years of experience, having supported VoIP, finance, insurance, and currently life science industries. As co-founder and CIO/CTO of Double Helix Technologies, he finds it fun to change hats now and then and participate in both technical and non-technical aspects of building innovative solutions. It is important to him to always keep learning and help others become better versions of themselves.
Talk name: Simplicity as Strategy. In this lightning talk, he explores how simplicity and delaying technology lock-in can dramatically improve the adaptability of software systems. He will share a couple of examples of how that has helped teams he has mentored.

Ieva Beilina, Leadership and Personal Sustainability Coach. More than 20 years of experience as CEO and COO in fast-paced organizations, including financial services and tech-related environments. She helps leaders and teams develop clear communication, healthy boundaries, and sustainable performance.
Talk name: Small Talk Matters: Why Informal Conversations Make a Big Difference. How to turn informal conversations into an effective communication tool — from awkward silence to guided, meaningful dialogue at any networking event, even if you don’t see yourself as a “natural networker.”

Stefan Dayneko, Data Scientist, and Aleksandrs Ķikuts, Delivery Manager at Arvato Systems.
