DevOps Braga #17 and NetPonto: Turbocharging DB deployments with Octopus Deploy

We're back! To start off 2020 on the right foot, we teamed up with NetPonto community to bring you this event.

"Turbocharging your database deployments with Octopus Deploy" by Derek Campbell

DevOps approaches are often used for Application deployments, but we see that the Database is still being manually deployed and often very late at night by tired DBA's.
You can leverage Octopus Deploy & tools such as DBUp to automate these deployments so that they can be deployed with the application automatically or even ahead of time.
In this session, Derek will cover topics such as rollbacks, zero-downtime database deployments and also talk about how to ensure that a DBA can have a chance to review changes before they run in Production and allow them to have a bit more sleep than they are used to.

Derek has worked across the world in London, Melbourne, Singapore, and now from home in Glasgow, Scotland, for Octopus Deploy as a CI/CD Architect in the Customer Success team.
He has been automating CI/CD pipelines for about eight years and has helped lead and implement CI/CD across multiple companies during his time in DevOps & Automation Consultancy.
Derek works with and helps Octopus Deploy’s biggest clients with their CI/CD pipeline and helps enable their success with Octopus Deploy.
