Runbook automation with Octopus Deploy Runbooks and Azure Automation

Runbooks have been around in various forms for a long time to help with Operations tasks. They help Operations teams automate any recurring tasks, including routine maintenance tasks, provisioning temporary test environments, and SQL maintenance. They are also perfect for executing emergency tasks such as failing over to a Disaster Recovery environment or restarting a set of applications in a set order.

In this session, Derek Campbell from Octopus Deploy will show the value of Runbooks for Operations and DevOps teams, as well as taking you through real-life world demos of both Octopus Deploy and Azure Automation.

About our presenter:
Derek Campbell has worked across the world in London, Melbourne, Singapore, and now from home in Glasgow, Scotland, for Octopus Deploy as a Senior Solution Architect in the Octopus Advisory team.

He has been automating CI/CD pipelines for about eight years and has helped lead and implement CI/CD across multiple companies during his time in DevOps & Automation Consultancy.
