Over the last year, Generative AI has taken the tech world by storm. Many consider the increasing adoption of LLM applications platforms such as OpenAI to be as significant as the birth of the Internet in the 1990s. These developments pose significant questions to those of us working in the platform layer who will unlikely be developing ChatBots or becoming Prompt Engineers.

Where should we focus our time and learning to remain relevant? How can we prepare for the adoption of LLM platforms in SaaS or IaaS cloud environments? Which of the toolsets and mindsets we’ve learned from managing infrastructure or supporting development teams transfers to the brave new world of AI in 2024 and beyond?

This talk explores some answers to these questions on how we can keep learning and remain relevant.
