Microsoft have kindly offered to host us in their auditorium so we have a stage and lots of seating around it. Plus a break out area for networking.

Topic : Removing environmental differences

Is Docker the answer to the Stack x Platform x Cloud explosion thats engulfed the Enterprise?

Is IaaS really the right model? or just the one that worked?

Has PaaS’s time finally arrived.

Can Docker make OS, library, stack choices irrelevant to hosting and Ops?

This talk looks at how Pearson is investigating and moving towards Docker, what we’ve learned so far, and what you can learn from our experiences.

Speaker 2: Alex Heneveld at Cloudsoft

Topic: Amplifying Docker

In this talk we look at the challenges of taking docker and using it as the basis for a cloud platform. We highlight the work done by one of our own Cloudsoft engineers Andrea Turli who has contributed (https://github.com/andreaturli/jclouds-labs/tree/master/docker) an Apache jclouds provider for Docker and integrated this with the open source project Brooklyn (http://www.brooklyn.io/).

Andrea has written about this in a recent blog post AMP for Docker (http://www.cloudsoftcorp.com/blog/2014/03/amp-for-docker/) and so using this as a starting point we show how we are building on this to create a lightweight dynamic Docker cloud and compare and contrast this with work we are doing with our latest partner Waratek (http://www.waratek.com/) to help them create a similar lightweight dynamic Java cloud using their Java application container technology (http://www.waratek.com/product/cloudvm).

Speaker 3: Ian Miell at OpenBet

Topic: Docker at OpenBet, ShutIt and 2048

OpenBet is a transactional gambling platform that's over 15 years old. Over the years we've accrued a lot of technical debt and have recently begun using docker to help tackle some of this.
