Meet the Author of The DevSecOps Playbook: Sean D. Mack

Details

Join this very special community session with the author of the recently published book, The DevSecOps Playbook, Sean D. Mack in conversation with Helen Beal, DevOps Institute's Chief Ambassador.

Sean D. Mack is a transformational technology leader, author, speaker, and former CIO & CISO at Wiley. Sean is a visionary technology executive with extensive experience leading DevOps, infrastructure, enterprise applications, security, and desktop services. Sean has led global teams across a wide range of companies from financial companies like Experian to innovative tech companies like Etsy.

In The DevSecOps Playbook: Deliver Continuous Security at Speed, Sean addresses how to keep your business secure. The book teaches how to leverage the classic triad of people, process, and technology to build strong cybersecurity infrastructure and practices. It helps discover the shared responsibility model at the core of DevSecOps as the principles and best practices that make up contemporary frameworks are explored.

The book explains why it’s important to shift security considerations to the front-end of the development cycle and how to do that, as well as describing the evolution of the standard security model over the last few years and how that has impacted modern cybersecurity.

A must-read roadmap to DevSecOps for practicing security engineers, security leaders, and privacy practitioners, The DevSecOps Playbook will also benefit students of information technology and business, as well as governance, risk, and compliance specialists who want to improve their understanding of cybersecurity’s impact on their organizations.

In this special session with Sean, we'll ask him about how the book came about, its most important lessons, and why you should read it. You can ask him questions too—just come along to the session and bring them with you.
