Michael Raeck is the Product Owner of a DevOps team and known for his expertise in cloud technologies. In this session, he will introduce you to the following topics:

• In the landscape of rapidly evolving technology, businesses are constantly seeking ways to streamline and automate their processes for improved efficiency, security, and reliability.
• In this talk, we will focus on the powerful capabilities of Terraform, to manage GitHub resources such as organizations, repositories, teams, and permissions.
• We will provide a hands-on demonstration and share best practices on leveraging Terraform for GitHub management.
• We will also delve into how using such a strategy makes the onboarding and offboarding process more efficient and supports adherence to ISO 27001 regulations.

Firewalling a Service Mesh with WebAssembly: Pick low hanging Fruits for secure and performant self-servicing

Karsten Siemer is an experienced DevOps Engineer, who brings his vast knowledge on Kubernetes and modern cloud infrastructures to the table. In this session he will introduce you to the following topics:

• The Focus lies on firewalling within Kubernetes, highlighting the evolution from relying on dedicated firewall teams to a modern, self-servicing approach.
• Service meshes, essential in today's microservices architectures, facilitate inter-service communication. Yet, their security is a challenge. This discussion introduces the use of WebAssembly for safeguarding service meshes.
• Emphasizing the value of 'low-hanging fruits', he suggests easy yet impactful security enhancements. This promotes a resilient, performance-oriented, self-servicing security model.
