**Failure is not an option. It's a fact - Abstract**
Failure is an inevitable part of success. Failure in the context of innovation efforts has helped thousands of start-up companies to succeed but in the context of a known execution process, it can harm results or reputations or create undue risk. In software development we are situated at the cross road between innovation and known processes so how do we benefit from failure and achieve success?
In this session we will explore several studies and best practices of successful companies that have embraced them both.

**Ixchel Ruiz** **\- Speaker Bio**
Ix-chel Ruiz has developed software application & tools since 2000. Her research interests include Java, dynamic languages, client-side technologies and testing. Java Champion, CDF Ambassador, hackergarten enthusiast, Open Source advocate, public speaker and mentor.

**GitHub Copilot - Abstract**
Copilot ([https://github.com/features/copilot/](https://github.com/features/copilot/)) is an exciting new service for developers created by GitHub. Leveraging state-of-the-art language models from OpenAI Codex and the huge public codebase available on GitHub, We created a new tool that can boost developer productivity. This is exciting - but still "emerging" - technology, so a few questions still remain open.

**Florian Georg - Speaker Bio**
Florian is Developer Audience Lead and Go-to-Market Manager for Developer Engagement and Application Innovation at Microsoft Switzerland. In this role he's responsible for getting people excited about technology and create opportunities for learning how to achieve more with it.
