This time, we’re not meeting at the beach! The setting is different, but the spirit stays the same — the DevOps na Praia community is gathering again, this time near Marquês subway station, for our November Meetup.

7:00 PM – 🎤 “Garbage In, Garbage Out: How to Ensure Quality in OpenTelemetry Instrumentation”

➡️ Adopting OpenTelemetry does not guarantee effective observability. Inconsistent, incomplete, or incorrect instrumentation results in useless data exactly when we need it most. This talk addresses the critical challenge of measuring and ensuring the quality of generated telemetry.
Common instrumentation problems will be presented, such as missing service.name attributes, broken context propagation, high cardinality metrics, incomplete traces, and debug logs in production, along with their practical solutions.
Participants will see examples of how to implement structured telemetry data governance through the application of purposeful instrumentation or ad-hoc corrections.
