We often focus on optimizing storage and compute in observability, while overlooking one of the biggest cost drivers: network traffic. In this session, Iris shares a practical approach to reducing costs by minimizing cross-AZ metrics collection using tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and VictoriaMetrics — backed by real-world results. (A variant of her talk from KubeCon EU 2026.)

In engineering, we spend millions optimizing technical protocols to ensure systems talk to each other seamlessly. Yet, the most frequent cause of "system failure" in an organization is the broken communication between humans. Most leaders rely on intuition, but intuition doesn’t scale.
In this session, William Mendes breaks down communication into a manageable framework. By treating human interaction like an API, you can learn to "request" and "provide" information in the exact format your recipient needs. We will explore how to use the MBTI framework as a diagnostic tool for 1:1s, peer collaboration, and stakeholder management. We will then pivot to the "Broadcast Protocol”: using Storytelling to move larger audiences and align your entire network with your vision.
