Talk;

As agentic AI continues to evolve, horror stories are becoming all too common – dropped databases, impersonation of a user, file deletion. In many cases, this isn’t the first signs of Skynet, but the result of agents operating with unfettered access and insufficient guardrails.

So how do we apply established security principles to this rapidly evolving space?

This talk introduces the fundamentals of access control before exploring how existing tooling and approaches can be adapted for agentic workflows. The centrepiece is Cedar, an open-source policy language developed by AWS and how it can be used to build scalable, approachable permission systems for AI-driven applications.

TL;DR Dropped databases. User impersonation. Rogue file deletion. As agentic AI systems gain autonomy, access control is becoming critical infrastructure. This talk explores how established access control principles can be applied to agentic AI workflows, using Cedar and policy-based authorisation to build safer AI-driven systems.
