Details
We will have two topics at this Meetup.
First topic will be about Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
The second shorter talk gives you an overview about the upcoming DevOps related conferences in Germany.
ZEISS is also supporting us by providing the location, Wi-Fi, and snacks for our community meetup.
Agenda:
17:30 Arrival
Get a drink, take your seat, Welcome!
18:00 official Opening / Introduction
18:05 Site Reliability Engineering - Speaker: Frank Schimmel & Susann Riedeberger (ZDI)
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software engineering with operations to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient. It focuses on automating tasks, setting Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and measuring performance through Service Level Indicators (SLIs). SREs work to reduce manual toil and improve system reliability, often through automation. They use blameless postmortems to learn from failures and continuously improve systems. SRE has become a widely adopted practice to maintain high availability and performance in large-scale environments.
We want to talk about the role definitions DevOps engineer and SRE. What is it and what’s the difference.
