About us

About Us: It doesn’t matter if you just recently developed an interest in DevOps or you are an old-hat DevOps practitioner - we welcome you to DevOps Vancouver Meetup!

DevOps is a mindset and framework of practices and tools that aims for breaking boundaries between development, business, and operations within organizations. Although built on foundation of Lean and Agile principles, DevOps extends the meaning of agility. Therefore, we are open to all who are interested in sharing and hearing stories related to DevOps from like-minded individuals.

Server monitoring using idrac-exporter, Prometheus, & Grafana.
Servers normally use the SNMP protocol for monitoring data but what happens when there is a bug rendering this unreliable (as is the case with some of our HPe servers). We use the Redfish API to obtain the data for monitoring. This data is run through an idrac-exporter to make it suitable for Prometheus scraping, then rules have been set on Alertmanager, & visibility through Grafana Dashboards.
