Java Development with AWS Cloud and Gogo DevOps
As need for time to market accelerates and customer needs evolve rapidly, businesses must become increasingly agile. This presentation talks about Gogo's DevOps culture and how Java engineers are benefited by making use of tools provided by Gogo’s DevOps team to remain truly agile. You will see how continuous deployment of microservices on the AWS platform is performed in a repeatable and reliable fashion with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, monitoring, and security. It covers some of the Netflix open source tools that Gogo's Java engineers and DevOps teams have adopted and how it helps them to innovate continuously and remain productive. You will see how developers at Gogo build and deploy applications using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, ELB, etc.) by making use of a uniform and consistent DevOps platform. Some tools and techniques used to deploy applications to production will also be covered: microservices, AWS multi-region deployment, Spring Boot, Eureka, Ribbon, Hysterix, Jenkins, SonarQube, Spinnaker, Foremast, Graphite, SumoLogic.
Anirudh Kubatoor
Anirudh Kubatoor is a seasoned Software Engineer currently working at Gogo. He comes with 11 years of industry experience working on complex development projects and has experience in architecting, designing, and developing enterprise applications using Java and related technologies. For the past year he has been working on the AWS platform and has been instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying applications to production environment using Gogo’s DevOps platform and tools.
