Join DevOps DSM on Wednesday, February 25th, 6-7pm, where Carl Soderlund from Athene will be sharing his expertise and knowledge about FinOps. FinOps (Financial Operations) brings together engineering, finance, and business teams to make data-driven decisions about cloud spending.
Carl began his career in IT as an infrastructure engineer working in traditional on-premises data center environments. As organizations moved to the cloud, his focus shifted from infrastructure to cloud platform engineering, giving him firsthand experience with both legacy and modern operating models. Over time, this path led him to support the FinOps practice at Athene, both as a developer of internal FinOps systems and as a cloud architecture voice partnering closely with development teams. Carl is a certified FinOps Engineer through the FinOps Foundation.
In this session, Carl will share an overview of FinOps principles, discuss the tools he uses, and walk through his analysis process for identifying cost-savings opportunities. This session offers valuable insights for DevOps engineers, software engineers, and business and finance analysts alike.
