This month, we'll have the pleasure of welcoming Emily Omier who will explore how you can give people a reason to join your community with us.

Our meetup coincides with the fabulous devrelcon, so we thought it a great opportunity to bring our community together in person at DevRelCon's venue Codenode, as well as online on lu.ma (find details on how to join us either in person or online below).

Talk: Give People a Reason to Join Your Community

No matter what kind of product you have — open source project, proprietary developer tool, motorcycle, exercise equipment — if you want to build a community you have to give people a reason to join the community that goes beyond the value they get from anonymously using the product. In this talk, Emily Omier will talk about how to intentionally position your community, including isolating the unique value that people will get from being active community members that they can’t get any other way. Attendees will leave with actionable steps to take to put these marketing fundamentals in place and ultimately accelerate their communities’ growth.
