**Talk 1: Why Testing Matters: Building Quality Software Through Multiple Approaches by Abdullah Farah**

Good testing catches problems early and saves time. Different testing methods help us find different types of issues. In this talk, we'll explore how combining various testing approaches creates more reliable software that actually works for users.

As we dive into testing methodologies, we'll examine white box testing where developers check their own work using unit tests, black box testing that evaluates the finished product without looking at the code, and grey box testing which combines both perspectives. Each approach reveals different problems and strengthens your quality assurance strategy. The goal is to show how these complementary methods work together to identify issues that might otherwise slip through the cracks.

To wrap it up, we'll look at how implementing these testing strategies improves both your software and your team's effectiveness. By the end of the session, you'll understand how strategic testing approaches can transform basic code into robust, user-friendly applications—while saving time and reducing costly fixes down the road

BIO:
Abdullah is a software developer passionate about building impactful websites for small businesses using Next.js and Laravel (thanks to Gent, it had impact on me as a dev because Gent is PHP city). Beyond development, he leverages marketing expertise to help clients maximize their digital presence and effectively reach target audiences.

At Proximus, Abdullah is exploring app development to expand his technical toolkit, with plans to launch a new app soon—following Taylor Otwell's advice that we need to ship more this year. As an active voice in the web development community, he regularly shares insights and advocates for critical principles like accessibility and Best Practices in Software Development

**Talk 2: Select it! - Styling new HTML UI capabilities by Brecht De Ruyte**

Thanks to Open UI a lot of new HTML capabilities are available to us: popovers, invokers and now customizable selects. In this presentation I'd like to show you how you can combine modern CSS capabilities to style a select.

This is not your basic select styling, we will be making radial selects, sticky selects, scrolling selects, snapping selects and marked selects. At the same time we will be keeping everything as a progressive enhancement. In the end you will feel inspired to combine these CSS capabilities beyond selects and have a clear view on how to style modern UI elements with just HTML and CSS.
