DevSessions Zwolle: From insight to code. In one evening.
On 25 November, we’re hosting a new edition of DevSessions Zwolle at Arcady.
This time, the focus is on UX and the choices that shape better software. How do you move from a problem to a promising idea? How do you understand the full customer journey? And how do you make sure the software you build is usable and accessible?
You won’t follow one fixed track. During two breakout rounds, two sessions run in parallel. You choose which one fits your work and interests best.

The sessions

1. From problem to idea: Brainstorming & ideation | Roelof Otten
How do you quickly move from a question to ideas you can actually work with?
Roelof introduces techniques such as Crazy Eights and puts you to work straight away. You’ll experience how to explore ideas quickly and turn a broad challenge into a few promising directions.

2. The power of the customer journey | Stephan Westra
A good user experience starts with understanding what happens across the full journey.
Together, you’ll map out a customer journey or service blueprint, from first contact to after-sales service. Where are the pain points? Where are the opportunities? And which moments deserve attention first?
Stephan shows how a customer journey can help you make better product and design decisions.

3. UX Fundamentals: Designing for people | Max Kievits
UX isn’t only relevant for designers. Developers and consultants make decisions every day that directly affect how people experience software.
Max shares practical UX principles you can apply in your own work, including forms, psychology, dark patterns, feedback and usability.
No full UX course in 40 minutes, but plenty to make you look at your own software differently the next day.

4. The fourth session wil be announced
There will be a fourth session during the second breakout round. The speaker and topic are still being finalised, so we’ll announce those soon.
That means you’ll have a choice between two sessions in each round.

Who is it for?
DevSessions is for developers, designers, architects, consultants and other tech professionals who want to look beyond their own discipline.
You don’t need to be a UX specialist. The evening is especially useful if you want to understand how ideation, customer journeys, UX and accessibility influence the software you design or build.
You’ll leave with techniques and ideas you can use in your own projects.
