Monitoring First:

The Solarwinds Monitoring Cloud companies are experts in how to do monitoring at scale in very high throughput environments. During our time running on the cloud, we’ve used many DevOps concepts, including automation, to build a fully-instrumented stack from infrastructure all the way through the application that allows us to have observability into all areas of the stack and from multiple angles including:

This talk will discuss many of the different instrumentation techniques we use to monitor our own infrastructure and show how monitoring almost everything we can find is a normal part of how we run our business.

About Dave:

Dave Mangot is the author of Mastering DevOps. He’s currently the global head of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for the SolarWinds Monitoring Cloud and an accomplished systems engineer with over 20 years' experience. He has held positions in various organizations, from small startups such as Terracotta to multinational corporations such as Cable & Wireless and Salesforce, in positions ranging from systems administrator to architect. He has led the transformations of multiple companies both in operational maturity and in a deeper adherence to DevOps thinking. He enjoys time spent as a mentor, speaker, and student to so many talented members of the community.

About Maciej:

Software engineer with 10 years experience in Ruby. Particularly interested in code quality assurance and DDD. Currently, building a team performance measurement and evaluation tools for Ruby ecosystem.
